Founding an energy supplier, with support from six of my own
A trade registration does not make an energy supplier. The notification, the balancing group and market communication have to sit in one order. I have helped build six suppliers and I accompany that path. I do not become your supplier.
What the path covers
The guide on this site describes thirteen phases: from the legal form through the notification under section 5 of the Energy Industry Act, the balancing group, GPKE and MaBiS, to the first delivery. A single hurdle is rarely the problem. One step taken late pulls the next ones with it.
The same guide states the ranges I use from practice: 9 to 18 months and about 60,000 to 150,000 euro once, depending on the project. That is not a price list and not an offer. The breakdown is on the cost page.
What I take on, and what I do not
I lay the order onto your case: target customers, control area, your own balancing group or a sub-group, market communication in-house or through a provider. The supplier permit at the main customs office and the notification to the Bundesnetzagentur remain your applications. I prepare. I do not file as an authority.
I do not supply electricity and I do not deliver in your name. I do not sell the IT for market communication. The party that sends the messages has to show the certification.
When a conversation is worth it
The useful moment is before legal form, target customers and the first delivery date are locked. After that, work is redone that sat in the wrong order.
If you only mean one stage, such as the notification or the balancing contract, there are separate texts. A mandate can start at one stage. It does not have to cover all thirteen.
